Our Story

Rooted in the love of gardening and the beauty of Northern Wisconsin

For more than three decades, Silver Sage has grown from Mary's lifelong passion for gardening, first nurtured in North Florida and later transplanted to the landscapes of Northern Wisconsin.

Mary transformed the land into a thriving farm and greenhouse, where the community gathers each spring for a vibrant array of herbs, flowers, and vegetable plants. As the gardens flourished, fresh produce found its way to local restaurants and farmers' markets during the summer months.

Heather, who first came to the farm as a WWOOF volunteer, has been instrumental in that growth. After a career in anthropology, she now serves as farm manager, blending her love for agriculture with her skills as a nature photographer.

On the farm, pets aren't just animals. They're cherished family members and part of everyday life. And when the work is done, the Silver Sage team finds joy in the beauty of Northern Wisconsin, like floating on Lake Superior in the golden light of a late-summer sunset.
